Dr. Bruce Roller
Executive Director
At United Church Outreach Ministry, Dr. Roller is responsible for administration, personnel and external relations concentrating on fund raising, church relations, donor relations and public relations.
He has extensive experience in both volunteer management (St. Cecilia Music Society) and fund raising for non-profit organizations. His business experience includes twelve years in Information Systems for Abraham and Sons and Country Fresh. After being awarded a BA in Religion from Eastern Nebraska Christian College, he earned the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Divinity degrees in Biblical Studies from United Christian Bible Institute in Cleveland, TN. An extensive writer, Bruce has also taught on the college level (Samaritan College, Los Angeles) and in the corporate classroom (Country Fresh, Microsoft Applications). After many years of experience as pastor and counselor, Bruce is now a member of Plymouth Congregational UCC, and is a frequent guest preacher in the region. He also consults with non-profit organizations in the areas of strategic planning, resource development, and board development.

Shawn Keener
Program Director
Ms. Keener is responsible for the day-to-day administration of programming including the food pantry serving nearly 12,000 families annually; Homework House™, an after-school tutoring mentoring program involving college and community tutors and 200 elementary and middle school students, as well as Preparanda Para Su Futuro, Kent County’s preeminent Spanish language financial skills program. Ms. Keener is experienced in volunteer management and training, specifically in the public school setting. As a volunteer coordinator in the elementary schools, she was responsible for developing and implementing both science and arts enrichment activities for K-6th grade. Her prior experience includes research/recruiting and training for a political research firm and the Energy Administration of the State of Michigan.
Shawn earned both her BA in Social Sciences in 1979 and her MA in Agency/Elementary Counseling in 1986 from Michigan State University. She worked as an elementary counselor for Waverly Schools in Lansing, Michigan.
