Erik Keener
Interim Executive Director
Erik has been with UCOM since 2008 having started as a coordinator in UCOM's former homework house program. Erik moved into the management side of the organization in 2010 and then became the Associate Executive Director in 2013. With the retirement of Dr. Bruce Roller, UCOM's former Executive Director, Erik is stepping in as the Interim Executive Director while a search committee looks for the next ED.
Shawn Keener
Program Director
Ms. Keener is responsible for the day-to-day administration of all aspects of UCOM programming. Ms. Keener is experienced in volunteer management and training, specifically in the public school setting. As a volunteer coordinator in the elementary schools, she was responsible for developing and implementing both science and arts enrichment activities for K-6th grade. Her prior experience includes research/recruiting and training for a political research firm and the Energy Administration of the State of Michigan.
Shawn earned both her BA in Social Sciences in 1979 and her MA in Agency/Elementary Counseling in 1986 from Michigan State University. She worked as an elementary counselor for Waverly Schools in Lansing, Michigan.
